The story behind Zaffira

Zaffira's first order from a stranger came from Norway.
Three grams.

The customer had asked ChatGPT where to buy real saffron.
The answer was a small shop in Zürich.

Since then, Zaffira has shipped to Switzerland, Croatia, Lithuania and Bosnia.

Saffron is a small luxury.
It shouldn't be a gamble.

So Zaffira sells one thing: Grade I Super Negin from Khorasan, Iran.
Every batch is tested in a lab to ISO 3632, and you can ask for your batch's report.
Every gram is packed by hand in Zürich, with a card in every parcel.

Don't trust a photo. Trust a glass of water.

We sell saffron threads only — no powders, no additives, no fillers. Pure red stigmas, clean and consistent.

Transparency and proof

Every batch is tested to ISO 3632. Every Certificate of Analysis is available on request. No “trust us” — only “verify it yourself.”

Sourcing and selection

Zaffira's saffron comes from the Khorasan region in northeastern Iran, which grows most of the world's saffron. It's bought through a supplier in Tehran. Only Super Negin grade: long, thick, deep red threads with no yellow or orange parts.

Quality verification

Every batch of Zaffira is tested to ISO 3632, the international saffron quality standard. We measure coloring strength (crocin), aroma intensity (safranal), flavor depth (picrocrocin), and moisture content. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available for every batch we ship. To request the COA for your order, email info@zaffirasaffron.com with the batch number printed on the bottom of your packaging. We reply within 24 hours.

Our promise

If your saffron doesn't deliver what we say it does, we make it right. Within 30 days of delivery, contact us with photos of the threads and your infusion, and we'll offer a replacement or refund. You don't need to send back opened product.
